S1ren misses start of IEM Cologne Major as BetBoom deploys substitute

As the tournament gets underway here in Cologne from tomorrow, BetBoom has confirmed that Pavel “S1ren” Ogloblin will be absent from the active roster for the beginning of the IEM Cologne Major 2026. The organization announced yesterday that Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov will take his place on the server for the start of Stage 1.

S1ren is the longest-standing member of BetBoom, and has averaged a respectable 1.06 rating in his 705 maps he has played in the last two years, and 10 months he has played under the BetBoom banner.

Rules surrounding the substitution

The team stated on social media that S1ren will join the squad at a later date. Under the Major rulebook, BetBoom is permitted to field d1Ledez until they decide to bring S1ren back into the active lineup. Once the team reverts to its original roster, they forfeit the right to make any further substitutions for the remainder of the tournament.

This roster situation follows weeks of uncertainty for the organization, primarily driven by visa complications that had left the final starting five in doubt leading up to the event.

Opening match against Gaimin Gladiators

With the current configuration finalized for the start of Stage 1, BetBoom will face Gaimin Gladiators in their opening match on June 2.

The active lineup for BetBoom at the start of the tournament consists of:

  • Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov
  • Kirill “Magnojez” Rodnov
  • Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko
  • Timur “FL4MUS” Marev
  • Daniil “d1Ledez” Kustov
