S1mple endured one of the roughest performances of his storied career as BC.Game dropped the first map, Mirage, to Partizan in crushing fashion. Playing on their own map pick, BC.Game looked poised to set the tone early, winning the pistol and follow-up round. But any early momentum evaporated almost immediately. Partizan seized control, stringing together 13 unanswered rounds to hand BC.Game a 13–2 defeat.
For S1mple, the map was an uncharacteristic struggle from start to finish. He ended at the bottom of the scoreboard with a 0.26 HLTV rating, the fifth-worst single-map performance in his professional career and his lowest in more than four years. Known for his ability to single handedly change the course of games, S1mple found himself shut down at every turn, managing only a handful of kills and failing to find impact in clutch situations.
S1mple joined BC.Game just a couple of weeks ago in a move that surprised many in the Counter-Strike scene given the team’s relative unknownness. Expectations have been high for him to elevate the roster’s profile and results, making this poor showing an even sharper contrast to the hype surrounding his arrival.
