A clip has made the rounds on X as it shows Refrag co-owner Michael “MaestrO” Bulostin telling another player to “find a bridge” during an in game argument. The interaction, which took place in the early rounds of a FACEIT CS2 match, quickly spread across social media and Reddit.
The clip was posted by X-user “fatguylul” and can be seen below.
Sponsor for big events
Refrag has grown into a significant brand in the CS2 esports partnering with events such as BLAST Rivals Hong Kong and the HLTV Confirmed podcast to showcase its software on broadcast segments and give away free trials.
That recent publicty has added extra scrutiny to the clip, with community members pointing out the contrast between a coaching and improvement brand and a co-owner using a phrase that most interpret as telling another player to take their own life.
Just yesterday Mustache Masters, a CS2 tournament raising money for the Movember Foundation, announced they had partnered with Refrag for this years tournament.
Refrag has made this announcement in their Discord server:
“There have been some messages of a staff member of Refrag on social media being toxic and using language that does not befit Refrag. We have investigated the matter, and this member is no longer a part of the team. Refrag is a community where we pride ourselves on having a positive, friendly place for everyone to enjoy the things CS has to offer. We’ll continue working on this to make sure we maintain that standard.”
On the 24th of November, Michael made a public statement, which can be read below.
