Preview: BLAST Open London 2025

Vitality, Spirit, MOUZ, and FaZe headline a 16-team BLAST Open London battle, with only six tickets to Wembley up for grabs.

BLAST is back with another tournament, however this time the Bounty format has been left behind. Sixteen teams begin the race for Wembley, high stakes, fresh storylines, and opening day bangers

Dates and location

  • ️ August 25th – September 1st, 2025
  • Online Stage – Qualifier for LAN Finals
  • Prize pool: Qualification for BLAST London Finals (London, September 5th–7th)

Format

  • Groups: Two double-elimination groups of eight, all matches best of 3.
  • Qualification: Top three from each group reach London, group winners seed into semi-finals, second and third into quarter-finals.
  • Finals format: Single-elimination in Wembley, Bo3 until a Bo5 grand final.

The storylines

  • Team Spirit recently made two controversial roster changes after winning back-to-back titles at IEM Cologne and BLAST Bounty S2 Finals. Can they bounce back with the new look team with zweih and tN1R.

  • Vitality’s season of gold: Austin Major champions, ESL Grand Slam winners, and a bunch of other trophies already in 2025, but they’re stumbling a bit lately. Let’s see if they can find form again after losing to both The MongolZ and Falcons at EWC.

  • MOUZ resilience check: Consistent semifinalists this season, but losing to Falcons at the Esports World Cup has to be disappointing. They’re looking to flip recent results against top dogs to secure a Wembley berth.

  • Liquid’s major qualification on the line: siuhy at the helm with Twistzz, NAF, NertZ, plus ultimate, a spicy G2 vs Liquid opener sets the tone for Group B and the fight for the Major qualification for both teams.
