The group stage of IEM Melbourne has concluded, and now just six teams remain in the hunt for the title and the lion’s share of the $1 million prize pool.
After a busy week of matches, Vitality and MOUZ have secured direct spots into the semi-finals by winning their respective groups. That means they’ll get extra time to prepare while the other four playoff teams battle it out in the quarter-finals on Friday.
Exciting quarter-finals
Falcons will take on GamerLegion in the first quarter-final. It’s the same Falcons team that just added Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov to the roster and has already looked sharp in Melbourne. But GamerLegion are no pushovers, after presenting an impressive victory over FaZe yesterday.
Later in the day, The MongolZ will clash with Liquid for the final semi-final berth. The Mongolian comes into the matchup with a loss against MOUZ, while Liquid overcame NAVI to earn their playoff spot.
The bracket is now set, and with Vitality chasing a Grand Slam and several teams showing impressive form, the stage is primed for fireworks in Melbourne.
