The next big PGL event won’t take place in an arena after all.
On Tuesday evening, PGL announced that their Belgrade 2025 tournament has been relocated to their in-house studios in Bucharest, Romania. According to the official statement, “unforeseen logistical challenges” forced the change.
The $1.25 million event was originally scheduled to play out in Serbia’s capital from October 25 to November 2. That plan has now been scrapped in favor of PGL’s home setup.
“We remain incredibly excited about the PGL format and are committed to delivering an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike,” PGL wrote in the statement.
It’s not the first time this year the tournament organizer has had to pivot. In February, PGL’s plans for a 2027 event in Krakow were also cancelled after their venue booking fell through.
PGL Bucharest will still feature 16 teams, all invited through the global VRS system.
