Parken Challenger Championship shuts down as operating company files for bankruptcy

The Counter-Strike community has received confirmation that the Parken Challenger Championship series will cease operations immediately. New Breed Agency ApS, the operating company behind the tournament circuit, has initiated bankruptcy proceedings. As a direct result, the remaining events planned for the season, specifically series numbers nine through 16 and the culminating Parken Stadium Master Finals, have been cancelled.

The news was announced via their Twitter profile today.

Funding efforts fall short

Over recent months, the management and shareholders of New Breed Agency ApS attempted to secure additional funding to sustain the circuit. The goal was to find a viable solution that would allow the company to maintain its tournament schedule and fulfill its commitments to participating teams and partners. Despite these ongoing efforts, the necessary capital could not be raised. The company stated that it is no longer capable of continuing operations or meeting future obligations. This financial shortfall led directly to the decision to commence bankruptcy proceedings.

Outstanding claims and creditor matters

The shutdown leaves several unresolved issues, particularly concerning financial obligations connected to the eight events that have already taken place. According to the official announcement, the appointed bankruptcy estate will supervise all creditor matters. Any outstanding claims, including those from teams, players, suppliers, and service providers, will be processed in accordance with applicable bankruptcy legislation.

The organizers acknowledged the frustration and disappointment this situation causes for the teams and partners who supported the project. They have promised to communicate directly with affected stakeholders as more information becomes available.

Eight seasons completed before closure

Before the financial difficulties forced the closure of the circuit, the Parken Challenger Championship successfully hosted eight individual tournaments. The series was built to offer competitive opportunities and consistent LAN experience for tier two teams within the Counter-Strike ecosystem. Throughout the first half of the year, several different organizations claimed first place at these events.

The list of tournament winners from the active seasons includes:

  • Season 1: GamerLegion
  • Season 2: Betclick
  • Season 3: B8
  • Season 4: AaB
  • Season 5: INFINITE
  • Season 6: 100 Thieves
  • Season 7: BASEMENT BOYS
  • Season 8: STATE

The cancellation of the remaining circuit removes a planned platform for these and other teams to compete in the latter half of the year, ending the Parken Challenger Championship’s presence in the competitive calendar.
