History of 100 Thieves in Counter-Strike

  • The False Start (2017-2018): 100 Thieves made their highly anticipated entry into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in December 2017 by signing the former Immortals roster, a Brazilian super-squad featuring players like HEN1, LUCAS1, and kNgV-. Unfortunately, the project collapsed almost immediately due to persistent visa issues and out-of-game controversies. The organization mutually parted ways with the roster just a month later, before they had the chance to play a single official match under the 100T banner.

  • The Australian Era (2019-2020): In October 2019, 100T made a triumphant return by acquiring the beloved Australian Renegades roster (AZR, jks, jkaem, Gratisfaction, and Liazz). The team hit the ground running, bringing 100T to the grand finals of IEM Beijing and making deep runs at major events like IEM Katowice. However, the COVID-19 pandemic severely complicated things. With the roster stuck in North America while the core of competitive CS:GO shifted strictly to Europe, 100T announced their departure from the game in October 2020, citing geographical and logistical roadblocks.
  • The CS2 Comeback (2025-Present): After a five-year hiatus, 100 Thieves shocked the esports world in November 2025 by announcing their return to Counter-Strike 2. Spearheaded by Head of FPS Sean Gares, the organization built a formidable European/International roster. They blended legendary veterans, pairing four-time Major winning duo dev1ce and coach gla1ve with FaZe Clan legend rain, alongside promising young prospects Ag1l, sirah, and poiii. As of early 2026, the new squad has been actively climbing the global rankings.

Biggest Victories & Placements

Because the 2019-2020 roster played during the highly competitive Astralis era and the chaotic online pandemic era, their biggest achievements are heavily defined by deep playoff runs in Tier-1 tournaments:

  • 2nd Place: IEM Beijing 2019: Their standout performance on LAN, where they tore through the bracket before falling to the dominant Astralis in the Grand Final.
  • 2nd Place: ESL Pro League Season 12 North America (2020): A massive online run during the pandemic, ultimately finishing as the runner-up to FURIA.
  • 3rd Place: DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 North America: A solid bronze placement in a stacked regional bracket.
  • 5th-6th Place: IEM Katowice 2020: A highly respectable top-six finish at one of the most prestigious LAN events in CS history.

Trivia

  • The Holy Grail of Stickers: Because 100 Thieves dropped their Brazilian roster right before the ELEAGUE Boston 2018 Major, their team stickers were only available for purchase for a tiny window of time. Today, those 2018 100T stickers are incredibly rare, highly coveted, and fetch massive price tags on the Steam Community Market.
  • Making History for OCE: During his time playing for 100 Thieves in 2019 and 2020, Justin “jks” Savage became the very first Australian player to ever make HLTV’s prestigious Top 20 Players of the Year ranking.
  • A Historic Reunion: The 2025/2026 CS2 roster is highly notable for reuniting dev1ce and gla1ve, two foundational pillars of the legendary Astralis dynasty that defined modern Counter-Strike.
