Wildcard have benched Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Love “phzy” Smidebrant, making a significant change to their lineup heading into the second half of 2025.
From the outside, both changes can appear quite strange with stanislaw having led the squad to two consecutive Majors, including a Top 16 result at the Shanghai Major.
The move, announced Tuesday, comes just one week after stanislaw’s agency revealed he was exploring his options during the player break. While the veteran IGL hadn’t ruled out staying on the team, that door now appears closed by the management.
Furthermore, Wildcard is now set to lose their highest-rated player of the year in phzy, who averaged a 1.13 rating in the first season.
The roster change leaves Wildcard with just three active players, which are Joshua “JBa” Barutt, Tim “susp” Ångström, and Aran “Sonic” Groesbeek.
