At this event MiBR have been on a hot streak with their new signing, but now run into one of the event favorites from their region.
The battle for being the best team from the South American region is hotly contested, with Legacy challenging FURIA’s crown. They recently defeated Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo’s championship-winning squad at the Esports World Cup, in a 3rd-4th place decider, and again 2-0 at FISSURE Playground 3.
Legacy have managed to elevate their status through developing talent such as Bruno ‘latto’ Rebelatto and Santino ‘try’ Rigal on the verge of becoming world-beaters with their consistency and firepower. However, MiBR might finally have got themselves in the mix with their new signings.
Getting help for insani
Felipe ‘insani’ Yuji has been the best aggressive rifling prospect in Brazil since names like João ‘felps’ Vasconcellos and Fernando ‘fer’ Alvarenga came and went. The Brazilian rifler has quietly averaged a 1.19 rating across the last three months as the region’s own ‘mini-donk’, attempting an absurd number of opening kills in rounds (27.7% of rounds, more than donk) and succeeding at an astonishingly high rate (52.2%).
MiBR shrewdly got hold of Brazil’s strongest AWPer in June, Lucas ‘nqz’ Soares, as he returned from his career break. Only 21 years old and a Major semifinalist, he is averaging a 1.23 rating at FISSURE.
But MiBR’s most crucial signing came more recently, getting Argentinian, Tomas ‘tomaszin’ Corna. The rifler was the force carrying BESTIA, averaging a 1.17 rating across 2026.
While tomaszin has not been lighting up the server at FISSURE yet, dropping a below average 0.93 rating, he has already added to their consistency. They were able to defeat 9z without dropping a map, and insani and nqz have looked as good as ever.
The South American region is finally getting their ducks in a row as far as talent.
A difficult challenge in the semi-final
While MiBR has been looking up, they are running into Brazil’s biggest powerhouse. Legacy have the talent to match up to insani and nqz, and are already title winners.
MiBR already lost 0-2 to BetBoom in a match that only mattered for skipping the quarter-final, which MiBR ended up sweeping against Alliance anyway. Legacy are highest-performing team of the event, averaging a 1.18 rating across the whole team, only 0.03 below insani himself.
Both insani and nqz will have to play their best to have a chance, but the aggressive rifler has the capability of taking over maps in donk-esque fashion that can turn this derby into one of the best series of the year.
