Perfecto announced on Sunday the 18th that he has been tested positive for Covid-19. Even though being tested positive for Coronavirus, the 20-year old Russian has featured in all four games since. But NAVI doesn’t believe playing the 3rd place match today will be responsible, and has therefore decided to forfeit the match.
NAVI coach, Andrii “B1ad3” Gorodenskyi explains the decision with the following statements.
“While being sick, Ilya is not feeling well: it is difficult for him to play not only physically, but also psychologically, since he cannot help the team to the full.
It wasn’t sensible to make a substitution for a match with Team Spirit, which is why we decided to abandon the game.
Important tournaments await us, so now he needs to get in shape as soon as possible, and every match played worsens his condition and delays the recovery process.”
