NAF aces twice as Liquid eliminate TYLOO 2-0

The Canadian has now played TYLOO seven times in his career and won all seven, and his Anubis half sent the home side into the off-season.

Team Liquid knocked TYLOO out of IEM Beijing 2026 on Wednesday morning with a 2-0 win in the Group B lower bracket semi-final, holding off a late fightback on Mirage (13-11) before running away with Anubis (13-4). TYLOO finish ninth to 12th with $25,000, and Liquid play BetBoom for a quarter-final place in the morning’s second series.

NAF’s TYLOO record

Before the match, the casters called Keith “NAF” Markovic the TYLOO slayer. He met them with OpTic in 2016, twice with Renegades at the 2017 Asia Minor and three times with Liquid, and he never lost a series. A rough Mirage (10-14) did not change that, because Anubis was his.

TYLOO had lost their last four matches on Anubis, against Lynn Vision, Falcons, M80 and Spirit, and Liquid picked it for that reason. EliGE opened the CT side with four kills on the pistol round. In round five NAF held B against a full TYLOO buy, took three through Canal and then turned to mid to finish all five.

Six rounds later he did it again. With one TYLOO player left, his teammates told him to go hunting for the fifth kill, and he found it. That made it 11-1 at the half. NAF finished the map 22-10 with 134.5 ADR, while Jee went 5-15 with the AWP.

TYLOO won three rounds after the switch. Liquid closed it at 13-4.

A desk slam turns Mirage

The first map was TYLOO’s pick, and for four rounds it looked like a good one. Mercury opened with three kills on the pistol round, and Jee won a round with a Glock kill followed by an AWP no-scope that woke the Beijing crowd up. Coach flashie called a timeout at 0-4.

malbsMd slammed his desk after an early death in the fourth round. In the fifth, on a half-buy with a Deagle, he took Zero’s AK and found four kills. Jorko finished the round 1v1 against JamYoung with the Scout, the last shot through a wall. Liquid won 11 rounds in a row from there, and TYLOO did not get the bomb down for most of that run.

TYLOO’s answer came late. They slowed the pace, kept their utility for the late round, took seven of the last nine rounds and got to 12-11. Liquid broke into B in the last round to win it. EliGE ended the map 25-15 with 106.7 ADR, and JamYoung matched his 25 kills for TYLOO.

A short season for TYLOO

Beijing was the biggest event left for the only Chinese team in the field after the forfeit in Lisbon cost them a Major place. They leave with one series win, the 2-0 over 9z on Tuesday, and nothing else on the calendar for 2026.

In his exit interview on stage, Jee said the season was over and that missing the Major in Singapore had been the biggest blow, both for the team’s mentality and in other ways.

Liquid were happy to play twice on the same day. EliGE said before the match that the team was used to it from smaller events.

We’ve been playing the tier two tournaments. This is going to be nothing.

The next test came at against BetBoom, who beat Aurora 2-0 in the other lower bracket semi-final. The winner joins the quarter-finals on 6 November, and the loser is out. We follow the rest of Group B on our IEM Beijing 2026 page.
