Despite winning only one of six pistol rounds in the series, MOUZ beat Spirit 2-1 by clinching the decider in a series where donk underperformed.
MOUZ and Spirit went head-to-head in a nail-biter series that came down to the 24th round of the third map. Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi once again put the last nail in the coffin into Spirit, like at the BLAST Bounty.
Spirit lose their map pick convincingly despite winning both pistols
Spirit got off to a good start on Dust2, winning the pistol and conversion round, but MOUZ went on a streak of 8 CT rounds to completely shut down the attack.
After being initially uncomfrtable on the map, MOUZ have turned their form around on the map, especially their B-site defense between Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi and Oldřich ‘PR’ Nový.
After winning the first half 8-4, Ádám ‘torzsi’ Torzsás took over the server in the second half with a 2.00+ rating to close out the map along with 14 AWP kills on the map.
Like Özgür ‘woxic’ Eker, torzsi won the first map of the series with an AWP 3k in a critical site defense.
MOUZ won the map 13-7, despite losing both pistols and not being on their map pick.
Spirit stays composed on Mirage
Spirit came out with a dominant CT side, winning the pistol. They won the CT-side half dominantly 8-4 off the back of it, converting on the pistol round win.
Myroslav ‘zont1x’ Plakhotia showed up massively on Mirage, defending Short with ease as Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets gained form. However, the latter would never truly show up in this series.
In the second pistol round, Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobiev wins a 1v3 to win Spirit’s fourth pistol round win, giving them full economic control to win the map.
They traded force buy victories, leaving the control on Spirit’s side. They went onto win the map with a 13-5 scoreline, heading into Nuke.
Spirit finally bested on Nuke by late Spinx appearance
The decider map of Nuke was a nail-biter throughout, as MOUZ clearly had control early on, but due to losing the pistol again and losing clutches they only won the half 7-5 on the CT-side.
Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi as well as others started to make critical mistakes in the second half, throwing away the only pistol round win of the series that MOUZ had.
Through more clutches, Spirit clawed their way back into the game, grasping the lead at 11-10. At that point, Spinx took away from Spirit what he had just given them, finding entry after entry.
MOUZ ended up winning the map 13-11, capitalizing on a poor performance from donk.
