misutaaa drops 1.91 rating to eliminate Liquid

What you need to know about ESL Pro League Season 23 Stage 1.

What you need to know about ESL Pro League Season 23 Stage 1.

Chr1zN making his name known

After beating Falcons and MOUZ on LAN mere weeks ago, PARIVISION bowed out of EPL in 16th-19th place. They have just lost 0-2 against #17 in the world, no less, in an online match for elimination.

PARIVISION combined K/D82-140 (-58)
HEROIC combined K/D

Since signing promising Danish IGL Chr1zN, HEROIC have disappointed. They started off the season with the news that their AWPer could not play due to VISA issues.

Now, the benched yxngstxr is playing in his stead, and Chr1zN is somehow making it work. HEROIC destroyed PARIVISION, #5 in the world, over two maps. Time will tell if this HEROIC can cotinue their progress, despite external issues.

It was PARIVISION that looked like they had issues, with visible frustrations. They are forced to take a break from tournaments until March 18th at BLAST Open Rotterdam.

MATYS pushes G2 past NIP

NIP contuinue their VRS tumble after falling at EPL, now ranked #32 in the world. Their odds of making the Major are looking dire after this loss.

For G2, it was also a necessary win. It came in close fashion, as they only won their map pick 16-13 with MATYS having a lifegame.

MATYS Average Stats49-29 K/D, 100 ADR, 1.79 rating
Rest of G2 Average Stats29-33 K/D, 63 ADR, 0.95 rating

After the match, MATYS was critical of his own mistakes despite such a crucial performance. During the game, G2’s coach told his team to “stop negative comments” as NIP encroached on them.

Snappi’s post on X rings true and hollow now, looking down the barrel of missing the Major.

misutaaa after destroying Liquid with 121 ADR: “I joined two weeks ago and had almost no practice”

“We have not practiced a lot, that’s why the CS looks so bad,” misutaaa said in his post-match interview. “I joined only two weeks ago, and I’m playing the spots I used to play before.”

Despite 3DMAX’s game “looking bad”, it was enough to dispatch of Liquid 2-0. That included a 13-5 stomp on Liquid’s pick of Nuke, and a 13-10 win on Dust2 where Liquid almost came back with miracle rounds.

Like NIP, Liquid’s chances of making the Major dwindle with every upset loss. At EPL, Liquid stomached losses to a brand new Passion UA gamble, Gaimin Gladiators and 3DMAX.

Liquid currently sit at #29 in the VRS. Both NIP and Liquid look to BLAST Open Rotterdam with hungry eyes for those crucial LAN victories. Trouble is, they have to face Spirit and PARIVISION to start.
