Donk’s meteoric rise with Team Spirit has made him one of the most talked-about players in Counter-Strike. Analyst Mauisnake believes the 18-year-old has already done enough to be crowned the greatest rifler in the game’s history, even if his career ended today.
Speaking on the latest episode of Hot Take Point Made with Thorin and Kassad, Mauisnake made the bold claim:
“If donk were to retire today, he would be the greatest rifler of all time.”
From prodigy to champion
Donk has been at the heart of Spirit’s ascent, with his insane rifling leading the team to several marquee titles, including IEM Cologne 2025, one of Counter-Strike’s most prestigious tournaments. Mauisnake pointed to both his peak form and his trophy cabinet as the deciding factors in the GOAT debate.
“Thinking about others in the GOAT-rifler conversation, you think about NiKo. Donk’s peak as a rifler has already surpassed NiKo’s.”
Donk doesn’t just have the stats to back it up, he also has the trophies. In just over a year at the top, donk has lifted the Shanghai Major, IEM Katowice 2024, and IEM Cologne 2025 trophies, claiming the MVP medal at all three events — a feat that few players in history can match.
A rare quiet series, but a clear point
The take came on the same weekend that donk delivered an uncharacteristically quiet performance against G2 in the BLAST Bounty Round of 16, finishing with a 0.98 rating as Spirit still closed out a 2–1 win.
Mauisnake also argued that if you swapped top players between other elite teams, those teams could still find ways to win tournaments. In Spirit’s case, however, replacing donk would mean losing the level of success they have enjoyed in the past year.
“If you put prime YEKINDAR on Spirit instead of donk, they are not winning the amount and quality of tournaments Spirit with donk has so far.”
By Mauisnake’s criteria of peak performance paired with elite achievements, donk has already built a legacy to rival and even surpass other all-time great riflers, all while being just 18 years old. If this is only the start of his career, the GOAT rifler debate may not remain a debate for long.
