Lock In Your CS2 Fantasy Lineup for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025

I finished in the top 1% of Fantasy Season Fall 2024 and Spring 2025, and I’m here to help you lock in the sharpest lineup for the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 Stage 1.

The Major is coming and so are our fantasy picks.

HLTV runs a dedicated Fantasy game for this event. A Fantasy game that consist of picking different players, hoping to hit the top players under a strict budget.

We can all agree that player performance wins fantasy leagues, but getting great value from roles and boosters can make a huge difference. That’s why I’ve created a list highlighting some of the best players for each role, based on both stats and value for money.

There are many roles to choose from, but these are some of my favorites and the most consistent options to use.

Main AWP

AWP: 0.25

4
AWP: 0.28

The AWP role is often one of the most expensive positions to fill, so it’s crucial to decide how much of your budget you want to allocate to it.

Legacy face FlyQuest in their opening match, which makes regali and saadzin single picks you shouldn’t pair together. Legacy are the favorites, but in terms of value, regali is an excellent pick who continues to perform well with the Australians.

FaZe haven’t looked great lately, but against this level of competition they’re clear favorites in every matchup. broky is currently close to an all-time low in price (when FaZe are the highest rated team), making him a very attractive option. His ceiling is high, and FaZe have a strong chance of going 3-0.

Support

3
Support %: 22.7%

4
Support %: 22.6%

The Support role rewards players who collect assists, survive rounds, or get traded. Because of that, support players are usually not the stars of their teams.

Some of the best options for this role are Swisher from M80 and KRIMZ from Fnatic. Swisher currently holds the highest personal rating while consistently posting strong support stats, making him the best pick on paper.

karrigan also fits well into the Support category. His high price mainly comes from playing for FaZe, as his individual rating of 0.84 is quite low compared to the others on this list. However, FaZe are expected to win their matches, which naturally boosts his overall fantasy points.

HS Machine

HS %: 59.6%

4
HS %: 65.7%

The undisputed best value for money in the HS Machine role has to be jks. A 65.4% headshot rate is incredible and almost guarantees maximum bonus points. Considering his price and potential performance, he’s a strong pick overall. Facing Legacy in the opening match works against him slightly, but FlyQuest have shown they can surprise.

jackasmo and chelo are both hit-or-miss options. Their teams have been inconsistent and could easily end up 0-3, which makes them risky choices even though their role points are almost guaranteed.

kensizor is another solid option on a strong team, but his price reflects that quality, making him more of a commitment pick than a budget-friendly one.

This is the role where you can free up some budget. karrigan will likely be the most popular pick here. He doesn’t save a massive amount, but FaZe are favorites to go through the Swiss stage 3-0.

If you believe in the new-look Fnatic, fEAR is a strong alternative. He offers a better rating than karrigan at a much lower cost, giving you room to invest heavily elsewhere. For example, by going all in on Fnatic and picking blameF.

Multi Fragger

Many of the star players in Stage 1 of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 are priced very high, so you really need to consider which direction you want to take. karrigan doesn’t open the door for picking Twistzz or frozen, but those two remain some of the most sought-after players. If FaZe perform well, it will likely be because of players like Twistzz, making him a strong candidate for Stage 1 MVP.

regali also stands out with a very high multi-kill percentage at an affordable price, making him an intriguing option if you already have an AWP player locked in.

My best value-for-money picks are without a doubt regali and broky. Two AWPers with high skill ceilings and great prices. Even in losing games, they’re often able to put up strong performances and secure solid fantasy points.
