“I Just Want to Play”: s1mple Joins BC.Game

Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev has officially joined BC.Game, bringing an unexpected but potentially meaningful shift in the current Counter-Strike landscape.

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has officially joined BC.Game, bringing an unexpected but potentially meaningful shift in the current Counter-Strike landscape. After stepping away from top-tier competition and spending much of the last two years on the sidelines or on short-term loans, s1mple has taken a step back into the professional circuit with a lesser-known organization currently ranked 66th in the global standings.

Though not the headline-making move some anticipated, the signing represents a mutual opportunity: for BC.Game to gain structure and recognition, and for s1mple to return to regular play in a competitive setting.

A new chapter at BC.Game

BC.Game has built a modest roster, mostly competing in lower-tier events. The addition of s1mple could bring a degree of stability and competitive maturity to the team. The current lineup includes:

  • Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
  • Luca “pr1metapz” Voigt
  • Aleksandar “CacaNito” Kjulukoski
  • Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev

The team has also benched Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad and Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, the latter of whom previously held the AWPing role that s1mple will now fill.

s1mple’s mindset: Reboot, not redemption

In a post on social media, s1mple wrote:

“Dobby is free. I just want to play, BC.Game gave me the chance, and they’re serious about building a top-tier team. Let’s see what moves we make and how I can impact things.”

He also referenced advice from longtime Na’Vi coach B1ad3, saying:

“One wise man said, if you want to come back to Tier 1, you need to join a Tier 3 team.”

It’s a grounded approach. Rather than aiming for a headline-grabbing return to elite competition, s1mple appears to be easing back into the game with the aim of rebuilding confidence and rhythm.

Why BC.Game?

This move might seem like a mismatch at first glance, but BC.Game offers a few advantages for a player looking to reset:

  • Regular Playtime: s1mple has spent a significant amount of time off the server. BC.Game offers him an opportunity to consistently practice and compete again.
  • Low Pressure Environment: Outside the spotlight of Tier 1 events, he can find his form without overwhelming expectations.
  • Room to Influence Roster Development: As a veteran, s1mple may have more input in the structure, playstyle, and future signings of the team.

Tournament Schedule and Short-Term Goals

BC.Game’s progress over the next few months will likely depend on their performances in:

  • ESL Challenger League Season 47
  • CCT Online events
  • Qualifiers for IEM and other international events

The primary objective should be to build chemistry, establish consistency, and gradually improve VRS rankings. s1mple’s presence may offer short-term visibility, but results will ultimately define the long-term direction of the team.
