Heroic has made an early-season roster change, benching AWPer gr1ks and bringing in Alkaren from Team Spirit Academy on loan.
The organization stated that while gr1ks brought “undeniable quality to the server,” his playstyle did not align with the direction set by head coach TOBIZ. Heroic acknowledged the roster experiment had not come together as hoped and took full responsibility for the adjustment.
In a personal statement, gr1ks addressed the change, saying:
“When I joined the team, I had a clear idea of the kind of AWPer I wanted to be. That’s where we didn’t really click, because the team needed a different style of AWPer, and it was really difficult for me to fully adapt and change my habits.”
Alkaren will take over AWP duties starting immediately. He joins on loan with an option for Heroic to make the transfer permanent. His debut will take place at the upcoming Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
Due to roster lock rules, scr0b from Heroic Academy will serve as the substitute for BLAST Bounty.
