HEROIC and OG have booked their spots at the upcoming BLAST.tv Austin Major, following strong showings in the European Major Regional Qualifier (MRQ).
Both teams secured their qualification on Tuesday after picking up their third win in the Swiss group stage, making them the first two teams from Europe to lock in a ticket to the Major.
Strong results
HEROIC were the first to qualify after a 2-0 win over Nemiga. The Danish squad delivered a composed performance, taking Dust2 13-8 before closing out the series in overtime on Mirage, 16-13.
OG followed suit shortly after, as they edged out Metizport 2-1. The victory was driven by Christoffer “Chr1zN” Storgaard, who topped the scoreboard with 46 kills and a 1.20 rating—another impressive display from the 18-year-old in-game leader.
Both HEROIC and OG are now confirmed for Stage 1 of the Austin Major, which begins in June.
First eliminations
Meanwhile, 500 and PARIVISION have been eliminated from the qualifier after losing their third and final match. Both teams exit the tournament with a 0-3 record.
In the other matches, Astralis grabbed a win over gla1ve and ENCE, while BetBoom took down fnatic. Meanwhile, BC.Game and SAW fell short to BIG and 9 Pandas, respectively.
