hampus after Major flop: We have had a lot of problems in our team

hampus hints at internal struggles and poor preparation as reasons behind Metizport’s 0-3 run.

Metizport was booted out of the Austin Major yesterday after a horrendous campaign in Texas.

The Swedish lineup now heads home with three heavy defeats in the bag, losing to Wildcard, TYLOO, and Imperial, averaging just five rounds per map.

“We got smashed”

Speaking to BLAST after the exit, Hampus “hampus” Poser didn’t sugarcoat the situation.

– Every team we have played has been the better team. So, there’s not much more to say. (…) We got smashed every single game, and I’m obviously disappointed.

– We have had a lot of problems in our team. Leading up to the Major, we did some bad choices in how we prepared. It is what it is, and I stand for how we did it. But we did it wrong, and this is the result of it.

Metizport at the Major:

  • 2-13 vs Imperial
  • 13-16 vs Imperial
  • 4-13 vs TYLOO

Despite a tough campaign in Austin, hampus says he’s still proud of qualifying for the biggest tournament of the season.

– Obviously, I’m very happy we got here. This is the first time in six years, a fully Swedish lineup has qualified for a Major. And we have done it with minimal resources compared to tier-1 teams. So yeah, I’m proud that we got here, but I’m not proud of the results. (…) We will see what happens now.

James Banks: What does it mean for what happens now for you guys?

– I have no idea. I know some people’s contract is running out, some people have offers and stuff. So, we will see. In this moment, I don’t really care. You will find out.
