G2 CEO: We’ll share our side of the story next week

Let’s just say the G2 boss did not deny the m0NESY rumours.

On Friday, massive news broke in the CS scene with Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov reportedly having signed a deal with Falcons.

While rumors had been swirling for some time, the idea of Falcons securing their star AWPer before the BLAST.tv Austin Major still came as a major surprise to many.

CEO speaks out

If the move is confirmed, it would mark the second superstar G2 has lost in less than six months, following Nikola “NiKo” Kovač’s departure to the very same Falcons project earlier this year.

In the wake of the m0NESY news, G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte took to social media to offer a brief but notable response.

While he didn’t go into specifics, he promised that more information would be shared soon.

– What a lovely day… not to be on socials. I need to wait for some deadlines to talk, but I will come back to you next week with our side of the story and our plans for the future, Dechelotte wrote on X.

What now?

G2 has yet to make an official statement regarding the reported transfer or what their lineup might look like going forward.

With the Austin Major approaching fast, all eyes will be on G2’s next move, and how they plan to recover from potentially losing one of the brightest stars in Counter-Strike.

Both G2 and Falcons will be in action today as PGL Bucharest kicks off this Sunday. Read our preview of the prominent event here.
