The Australians came into Stage 2 riding a high after a clean 3-0 run in Stage 1, but their Major fairytale ended with a thud. FlyQuest never really found their footing in the second Swiss stage and bow out of Budapest with an 0-3 record after losing 2-0 in a do or die Bo3 against Astralis.
On Mirage, FlyQuest’s own map pick, Astralis immediately grabbed control and never let go, cruising to a dominant 13-5 win and piling even more pressure on INS and his men.
Overpass was a different story and much more of a scrap, but whenever FlyQuest looked ready to force a decider, the Danes answered back with multi-kill rounds and solid late round calling.
In the end Astralis closed it out 13-11 to stay alive at 1-2, while FlyQuest become the first team sent packing from Stage 2.
- Mirage: 13-5 (FlyQuest’s pick)
- Overpass: 13-11 (Astralis’ pick)
