Fluxo’s Major hopes collapse in Curitiba

Fluxo went out in the group stage of Circuit X Curitiba #4 after two losses in one day, and their chance of a PGL Major Singapore invite is down to 2% in HLTV’s projections. Captain exit has already written off the Major.

Fluxo arrived in Curitiba as one of seven teams chasing the last three Americas places in Singapore. All three of their Group A series were played on Wednesday. They opened with a 2-1 win over Galorys, lost the winners’ match to paiN by the same score, and then lost the decider in a rematch with Galorys. Nine maps later, the team was out of the C-Tier event, which runs until Sunday.

“Out of the Major”

exit, who joined Fluxo in January and calls the team, posted the three results on X late on Wednesday night, Brazilian time. In Pley’s translation from Portuguese, he wrote:

We are out of Circuit X and consequently out of the Major. I would like to apologise for the terrible result, I don’t even have much to say.

Coach Juve pointed to the winners’ match. On X on Thursday, he wrote that Fluxo could have closed out paiN 2-0 “in the afterplants we shouldn’t have lost on Dust2”, adding that “unfortunately we are practically out of the race and it is no longer in our hands” (translated from Portuguese).

Where the Americas race stands

The Americas have nine places in Singapore, and six are settled: FURIA, Legacy, 9z, MIBR, M80 and Liquid. In HLTV’s Major simulator, updated on Friday morning, Fluxo are 13th in the Americas order at 2%, down from 9% a week earlier. Before Curitiba, Pley’s look at the race on Monday already had Fluxo down as a long shot, at 10.7% in Udknud’s prediction.
