After an exciting first day of action in Germany, IEM Cologne rolls on with the second round of matches in Stage 1. Yesterday’s opening clashes saw all 16 teams in action, with some familiar names already under pressure.
Among the teams that fell short on day one were HEROIC, TYLOO, and BIG, all of whom now face elimination. For others like FaZe, Astralis, and GamerLegion, a win today would mean punching their ticket straight into the main event.
Day two features both qualification and elimination matches, with one game in particular standing out: FaZe vs Liquid.
The two powerhouse lineups will meet at 18:30 CET, with a spot in the main event on the line. It will be FaZe’s second series since the return of Helvijs “broky” Saukants, while Liquid aim to build on a hard-fought win over paiN.
ESL has decided to schedule two of the round two matches tomorrow. That will be Astralis taking on FURIA and BIG versus paiN. You can find the schedule down below.
Qualification matches
- 13:30 – GamerLegion vs Virtus.pro
- 16:00 – 3DMAX vs Ninjas in Pyjamas
- 18:30 – FaZe vs Liquid
- Friday – Astralis vs FURIA
Elimination matches
- 13:30 – Complexity vs TYLOO
- 16:00 – B8 vs FlyQuest
- 18:30 – MIBR vs HEROIC

By the end of Thursday, we’ll have said goodbye to three teams and welcomed three more to the IEM Cologne main event. The final four spots will be determined on Friday, before the tournament transitions to the group stage, where top contenders like Vitality and MOUZ await.
