ESL announces Saudi Arabia as the destination for ESL Pro League Season 25

ESL has disclosed the destination and further details for ESL Pro League Season 25, the second event of the 2027 ESL Pro Tour calendar. The tournament will be held in Saudi Arabia and features a $1,250,000 total prize pool, functioning as part of the broader $11,450,000 fund allocated for teams and players throughout the 2027 ESL Pro Tour season.

Tournament format and schedule

Season 25 will continue the format established in Season 24. Sixteen of the best teams in the world will compete entirely in person on LAN. Eight of these teams will advance to the playoffs, which will conclude on stage in front of a live audience. You can read ESL’s announcement here.

Key dates for the event include:

  • Arrival date: March 4, 2027
  • Media date: March 5, 2027
  • Tournament dates: March 6 to 14, 2027
  • Departure date: March 15, 2027

Team invites and seeding

Participants will be determined through a combination of Valve Regional Standings (VRS) and regional qualifier results. Invites will be based on the first available monthly VRS publication of January 2027, while event seeding will use the February 2027 publication.

The 16 team slots are allocated as follows:

  • 12 Global VRS Invites (Ranked 1st through 12th)
  • 1 ESL Challenger League Season 52 Europe Winner
  • 1 ESL Challenger League Season 52 North America Winner
  • 1 ESL Challenger League Season 52 South America Winner
  • 1 ESL Challenger League Season 52 Asia Oceania Winner

Viewership and annual club incentive

For the 2027 season, the Annual Club Incentive equation will integrate playoff viewership. The points distribution will be directly determined by the combined average concurrent viewership across the entire tournament.

Prize pool and club rewards

The $1,250,000 total winnings will be distributed among the teams and clubs based on their final placements.
