The final spot for ESL Pro League Season 22 has been locked in after Brazilian squad Legacy secured a 2-1 win over Imperial in the South American closed qualifier. Their victory completes the 24-team lineup for the prestigious event, which begins later this year.
Legacy’s qualification run saw them bounce back from an upper bracket loss to Imperial by eliminating Sharks and taking revenge in the grand final. With strong showings from dumau and saaddzin, the team clinched their place in the first stage of the $1 million tournament.
Legacy weren’t the only team to qualify via closed qualifiers. Ukrainian team TNL claimed the European spot by beating PARIVISION, while M80 (North America) and HOTU (Asia) also earned their places through regional qualifiers. The remaining spots were filled using the global VRS ranking and winners from the regional ESL Challenger Leagues.
The event will feature all the top-tier squads such as Vitality, MOUZ, FaZe, NAVI, and Spirit, who will join in the second stage. Stage 1 begins September 27, while the main event and playoffs will be played in Stockholm from October 3–12.
