The BLAST.tv Austin Major concluded on last month, with Vitality lifting the prestigious trophy after a commanding 2-1 victory over The MongolZ in the grand final.
With their seventh straight title in the bag, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire and his squad further cemented their place as the world leaders, sitting firmly on the CS throne.
But Vitality weren’t the only ones to cash in on Major success. Several teams racked up crucial VRS points during the tournament, with some making huge leaps in the global standings.
Brazilian rise
Among the biggest climbers Valve’s ranking are the Brazilians. Most notably, Legacy stole headlines after an outstanding campaign that saw them advance through both Stage 1 and 2, toppling Vitality in the process.
Their efforts earned them a jump of 27 spots, placing them comfortably inside the Top 25.
Fellow Brazilian squads paiN and FURIA also saw major gains, climbing seven places each after impressive playoff showings. paiN reached the semifinals in Texas, while FURIA went undefeated in Stage 3 before falling to their regional rivals.
Another noteworthy riser is Nemiga, who climbed 17 spots after a surprise run to the Top 16.
