Storylines

A clash with PGL Bucharest

PGL Bucharest 2027 runs from 17 to 24 January, the same days as the second week in Malta. All 14 teams PGL invited from the VRS have accepted, so many of the top teams will not be in Malta. Read more in our story on the clash.

A smaller Bounty, and all on LAN

Until now, BLAST Bounty started with an online stage. For 2027, BLAST cut the event to 16 teams and moved every match to LAN, with $1,250,000 per event. Teams now draft their play-in groups, and the group winners draft their way through the playoffs.

Money on every match

Each group winner gets a $40,000 bounty, the second-placed teams $25,000 and the third-placed teams $15,000. Beat a team with a bounty in the playoffs and you take half of it as prize money, while the other half is added to your own bounty. The winner of the grand final takes the full bounty of the team it beats, so the final prize for each team is only known when the event is over.

MOUZ defend, Spirit chase a third title

MOUZ won BLAST Bounty Season 2 2026 in August with a 3-1 final against Spirit. Spirit won the first two editions in 2025, and PARIVISION won Season 1 2026 in January with a 3-0 final against Falcons.
