blameF to his critics: I don’t need to do something just to make someone on the internet happy

“BaitF” or “eco hunter” are just some of the labels Benjamin “blameF” Bremer has been tagged with by the Counter-Strike community. Over the years, criticism has centered on his playstyle, which some argue is overly passive and geared toward hunting kills in lower-risk scenarios.

But what does he think himself?

In an interview with Retake Studio ahead of the Perfect World Shanghai Major, blameF addressed this negative narrative and sought to challenge the perception of him being a passive player.

– People can say that I’m not an aggressive player, but I’m the one fighting for banana every round on Inferno, the one fighting mid every round on Ancient, and the one fighting outside on Nuke every round, blameF said.

He continued:

– I think people want to see me running in first during set strategies, but that’s just not something many players in my role do. I believe that’s what people want me to do before they will stop calling me those names. But I don’t feel like I need to do that just to make some people on the internet happy.

Not his role

The Danish rifler also pointed to his defined role within his current team setup:

– On this team, it was made clear from day one that bodyy would be the entry fragger and matys the second entry. So it’s pretty simple that I shouldn’t be running in first on set strategies. But in almost all the defaults, it’s me taking the chances. But I don’t care what people say,” blameF concluded.

blameF and Fnatic are currently competing at the Perfect World Shanghai Major, with the team having lost their first two matches in the Opening Stage.

The European squad is set to fight for their survival tomorrow against the home town favorites from Rare Atom.
