FaZe’s loss to BC.Game dropped them to 82-86% according to two simulators, while BIG are on the ropes practically needing to win their upcoming tournament.
Today’s headline match pitted FaZe Clan and BC.Game against each other at Digital Crusade DracuLAN Season 7, in a high-stakes match for Major qualification and CS2 history.
FaZe needed to win this match to near-guarantee their qualification to the PGL Major Singapore in November. Now, their qualification is contingent on their performance at RLG Tesla Cup 2026.
Meanwhile, BIG took a hugely important loss for their own qualification to the Major, dropping their chances to about 20% overall, contingent on their performance at Stake Ranked Episode 5.
s1mple’s revenge game against FaZe
Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyliev took on FaZe, a team that used him as a stand-in for the BLAST Austin Major, but did not sign him to to allegedly preferring Helvijs ‘broky’ Saukants.
FaZe were on the ropes themselveson the VRS, but went through a gauntlet of three-map series to stay alive in the tournament to being now within reach of qualifying. A win against BC.Game would have virtually qualified them, with a 96% and 98% chance as per Udnkud and HLTV‘s simulators.
However, the series was dominated by BC.Game, winning 2-0, leaving FaZe still with work to do.
Dominant first halves with near-comebacks from FaZe
BC.Game managed to win their opening halves dominantly on both maps, including a massive 10-2 T-side haul on Dust2 powered by Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif’s in-game leading.
On the opening half of Nuke, s1mple was dominating with the AWP, with a 1.69-rated CT-side.
In the spirit of their event, FaZe went on massive comeback trails, including a recovery from a 7-12 deficit on Nuke to reach overtime. FaZe managed to reach map point on Nuke at 15-13, but fumbled it as BC.Game recovered and closed the map 19-16.
BIG in dire straits
While academy prospect Jason ‘JBOEN’ Boe Nielsen and Karim ‘Krimbo’ Moussa from BIG have moved onto other teams with great chances at reaching the Major, BIG themselves have fallen short.
They lost in a critical series against The Mongolz at 1win Private Club Season 1, especially devastating because their opponent already clinched the Major, while they are on a tightrope.
BIG has put themselves in a position where they need a near-flawless showing at the upcoming Stake Ranked tournament, already predicted to drop to 4% chance by HLTV if they lose their first match
