Astralis reveal HooXi as permanent IGL

The former G2 captain has a tough task ahead of him, having to lead Astralis back to the top of the game.

Astralis have announced the transfer of Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen on a permanent deal, the Danes confirmed today.

The 30-year-old joins on a free transfer and will take over as the team’s new in-game leader, having previously stood in for the squad at PGL Astana last month.

That means HooXi officially takes over the reins from Casper “cadiaN” Møller, who was benched in April.

In a statement, HooXi shared his excitement about joining Astralis full-time.

– Playing for Astralis has been a long-time dream of mine—the brand and the organization’s results speak for themselves, and it also feels truly special to once again play on an all-Danish team.

While Astralis showed glimpses of progress at PGL Astana, HooXi made it clear that the path ahead will require patience.

– It will take time and a lot of hard work, but I both hope and believe we can continue what we started in Astana and give back to the many fans who have already shown us incredible support, HooXi said.

Astralis are now:

  • Nicolai “device” Reedtz
  • Martin “stavn” Lund
  • Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard
  • Victor “Staehr” Staehr
  • Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen

  • Casper “ruggah” Due (coach)
