Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, one of the greatest players in Counter-Strike history, has announced his retirement from competitive play.
The 32-year-old Dane made the announcement live on the BLAST.tv broadcast, standing on stage inside Moody Center in Austin, Texas — the same venue where the final of the Austin Major will be played Sunday night.
Clearly emotional, dupreeh broke down in tears as he delivered the news in front of the crowd.
– All good things come to an end, and now it’s time to say goodbye, dupreeh starts out.
Most accoladed Major player in history
With five Major trophies to his name, dupreeh retires as the most successful player in Major history.
He won four of them during the legendary Astralis era, alongside device, gla1ve, Magisk, and Xyp9x — and added a fifth in 2023, lifting the BLAST.tv Paris Major with Vitality, ZywOo, and apEX.
Across his career, dupreeh won 27 notable events and competed at 19 Majors, being the third-most all-time
Since his benching on Falcons, dupreeh has worked numerous events as an analyst.
