A 1v3 from NertZ in the critical second map helped bring this five-man roster to its first final.
After opening the tournament with an upset loss to Astralis, G2 have pulled all the way back to reach the grand final of FISSURE Playground 3 in China, their third event in the last three weeks.
The run comes right when G2 has been “exhausted” , according to captain, Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač.

They were against match point on Anubis, but G2 clawed back the win thanks to the reemergence of a star.
A timely NertZ carry
Since joining G2 from Liquid, and reuniting with coach Eetu ‘sAw’ Saha, who expressly wanted him back, Guy ‘NertZ’ Iluz has done anything but impress. G2 has been in the shadow of its former lineups, failing to reach even a final since their miracle run at BLAST Open London 2025.
But NertZ turned up at FISSURE, having averaged a mediocre 1.07 rating over the last three months, jumping up to a 1.23 rating in China. Today, he had a server-high record of kills (58) and rating (1.33), also winning the clutch of the series.
NertZ’s glow-up comes at a time when G2 shifted their internal roles and hierarchy after poor results.
Can G2 stop Legacy?
