The brand new team flew up the VRS ranking by running through the lower bracket.
100Thieves’ run at their second-ever playoffs was bookended by two losses. In between them, a sea of 2-0 wins.
The new team of international upstarts headed by Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard went 12-0 in maps in the lower bracket to reach the final at DraculaN. Included, a 2-0 victory over FlyQuest.
In the final, they were able to take a map off of HEROIC, now ranked #15 in the world. 100 Thieves faltered on Inferno and Ancient, but were within 4 rounds or less of HEROIC even in these losses.
Had DraculaN been a single elimination bracket, 100 Thieves would have been out right away after losing 0-2 to ENCE. Instead, they started the tournament at #86 in the Global VRS and now are ranked #35 at the time of writing.
Currently #27 in European VRS
With these results, 100 Thieves is already at the 27th spot of the European VRS, still within 10 of making the IEM Cologne Major. The cutoff being on April 6th, 100 Thieves will have to be 17th or higher in Europe to be at the most prestigious event of the year.
With this event, they have made a massive stride in that direction, with a lot of work still left to do.
