New leaks suggest that Octane may soon receive a major buff, potentially making him even faster and deadlier in future updates. According to data miner Hypermyst, several experimental perks tied to Octane are being tested internally, including changes that could permanently alter his playstyle.
Double pad and Assault Plus

The biggest potential update is that Octane’s Double Pad perk, which currently appears in Wildcard mode, might be added to his base kit. This change would let players deploy two jump pads at once, increasing his utility for team rotations and advanced mobility plays.
Another major addition in testing is the Assault Plus perk. This new ability reportedly grants:
- Access to Assault Bins (previously exclusive to Assault Legends)
- A speed boost after breaking enemy shields
- Faster reload speed upon cracking an opponent’s armor
If implemented, this perk would make Octane even more aggressive and self-sufficient, combining mobility with combat power.
New movement perk
Alongside the Octane changes, a new movement perk is also being tested. This perk would let any Legend use Sparrow’s wall launch passive, effectively turning standard jumps into wall bounces. However, it’s unclear if this will be exclusive to certain Legends or tied to a future Wildcard ability.
Such a perk could revolutionize mobility across the roster, opening up creative parkour options beyond existing Skirmisher and Recon characters.
Release timing
There’s no confirmed release date yet, as all these changes are still in the testing phase. Respawn often tests new perk systems and balance tweaks in private builds before releasing them in live events or new seasons.
Halloween ironsights update

In addition to the perk leaks, it’s confirmed that Halloween skin iron sights will return on October 7, coinciding with the upcoming Halloween content drop.
