Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev’s detour into tier-two Counter-Strike has been compelling to watch. The Ukrainian star first turned heads as a stand-in for FaZe at the BLAST Austin Major, helping them reach the quarterfinals. Weeks later, on July 28, 2025, he signed with BC.Game, a team that peaked at No. 27 in the world.
Here we take a look at how he has been doing for BC.Game in the lower tiers of professional Counter-Strike.
Rough start
In the first four series of s1mple’s BC.Game career he posted some strong ratings and consistent play, but also a historically bad map by his standards.
The Ukrainian recorded a 3–14 K/D and a 0.26 rating, the fifth lowest single-map rating of his career, against PARTIZAN in a 13–2 Mirage loss. BC.Game opened the map 2–0, then conceded 13 rounds in a row as s1mple died every round and managed just three kills.

Still a superstar
That Mirage collapse was only a stumble in what has otherwise been a strong start. S1mple has been BC.Game’s clear star, leading the team to the grand final of Exort: The Proving Grounds against BetBoom. Even if they fell short, the run showed that his presence immediately raises the floor of a roster that usually has to fight hard just to hold onto a tier-two spot.
Looking at the bigger picture, the story is not about one bad map or one lost final. It is about a superstar grinding the circuit on his way back to the top. His 1.27 average rating since joining BC.Game is proof that while he may be a little rusty, he is still far too good for the lower tiers of Counter-Strike.
