In the first opening match of IEM Katowice, Evil Geniuses took home a surprising 2-0 victory over Gambit. The North American squad were tipped as underdogs beforehand but didn’t seem to care as they broke Gambit’s Overpass winning streak which was up 14 in a row, before wrapping up the series.

In the meantime, G2 faced the up-and coming youngsters from Team Spirit. Spirit were able to rally on Inferno, the decider map in the series, to secure victory over NiKo and company.
