Visa trouble in 2018 and a pandemic in 2020 kept the organisation off the Major stage, but both times its logo still ended up in the game.
100 Thieves are about to get their third Major sticker, and they have still never played a Major match. Sunday’s win at FiRe Last Chance took them to the PGL Major Singapore, where their first game will also be the organisation’s first match at a Major. Dust2 Brasil spotted the quirk.
Boston 2018: a team that never made it
100 Thieves entered Counter-Strike in December 2017 by signing the former Immortals lineup, which had finished second at the Kraków Major that summer and held a Legends place for Boston. On 12 January 2018 the organisation pulled out of the ELEAGUE Major Boston, citing “immigration issues”, and a team from the New Challengers Stage took the place instead. Valve still made a 100 Thieves sticker for Boston. By the end of January the organisation had released the whole squad without playing a single official match.
Rio 2020: a Major that never happened
The second attempt came in October 2019, when 100 Thieves bought the Renegades roster that had reached the semi-finals of the StarLadder Major in Berlin. Then COVID-19 arrived. ESL One Rio was first moved and then cancelled in September 2020, and 100 Thieves left Counter-Strike again a month later. Valve still released stickers for the teams that would have been there, and the 100 Thieves sticker is in the 2020 RMR collection.
| Major | Roster | Why no match |

The current team, built around device and rain with gla1ve as coach, should finally end the run. Between them, device and rain have won five Majors. The organisation has not.
