Paper Rex release Jinggg: “Keep being the crazy Raze player”

The Singaporean duelist leaves after five years, one Masters trophy and five international grand finals, with d4v41 heading out on the same day.

Paper Rex have parted ways with Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie, the organisation announced on X on Saturday. The 23-year-old joined the Singaporean team in September 2021 and played in every one of their international finals since.

Paper Rex thanked him for “the clutches, memes, aces and memories” and signed off with a nod to the agent that defined his career:

Thank you for everything @Jingggxd, keep being the crazy Raze player that you are

Jinggg answered a few minutes later. “5 years ago when i got called up to join PRX i never imagined my life would be like this at all,” he wrote, adding that he is “very excited to see whats next up”.

Two hours earlier, Paper Rex had also said goodbye to Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, who had been with the organisation since its CS:GO days. He announced on 24 October that he was looking for a new team, and we put him near the top of the Valorant transfer market two days later.

From Team SMG to the Raze in WGaming

Jinggg came to Paper Rex from Team SMG at 18. His Raze became the sharpest edge of the team’s fast, aggressive style, known to fans as WGaming, and within a year Paper Rex were playing international finals. They finished fourth at Masters Reykjavík and second at Masters Copenhagen in 2022, and the regional site VALO2ASIA named him the best player in Asia-Pacific in both 2022 and 2023.

2023 was the breakthrough season. Paper Rex won the first VCT Pacific League, beating DRX 3-2 in the final, finished third at Masters Tokyo and reached the Champions final in Los Angeles, where Evil Geniuses beat them 3-1.

Military service that never came

Jinggg was due to start Singapore’s compulsory National Service after that season and moved to a reserve role. In March 2024 the team announced that a medical evaluation had found him “medically unfit for military service” because of a lifelong condition. He returned to the starting lineup for VCT Pacific Stage 1 and signed an extension until the end of 2026, the contract that has now run its course.

Paper Rex won that Pacific stage, beating Gen.G 3-2 in the final.

The Toronto title

The trophy that had escaped them in Copenhagen and Los Angeles finally came in 2025. Paper Rex won Masters Toronto with a 3-1 win over FNATIC in the grand final on 22 June, their first international title. They added the Pacific Stage 2 title in August and finished fourth at Champions in Paris.

2026 brought two more Masters finals and two more defeats. Nongshim RedForce swept them in Santiago, LEVIATÁN won 3-2 in London, and the season ended in the top eight at Champions Shanghai. Jinggg’s last match in a Paper Rex shirt was a 2-1 loss to T1 on 9 October.

Three players left

With Jinggg and d4v41 gone, the Paper Rex roster is down to three players:

  • Flag of the Philippines Adrian “invy” Jiggs Reyes
  • Flag of Indonesia Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto
  • Flag of Russia Ilia “something” Petrov

Alexandre “alecks” Sallé stays on as head coach, while assistant coach Wendler has been allowed to look for a head coach job. Riot confirmed last month that Paper Rex keep their partner spot in VCT Pacific for 2027 and 2028.

The team have not named replacements, and Jinggg has not said where he goes next. No credible reports have linked him to a new team yet.
