Imperial beat paiN 2-0 in the grand final of Circuit X Curitiba Season 4 on Sunday night, with their in-game leader as the best player on the server. The title lifts Imperial to an 86.6% chance of a PGL Major Singapore invitation in HLTV’s simulator, and Gamers Club Masters VII on Thursday can settle it.
Imperial Esports have won Circuit X Curitiba Season 4. They beat paiN 2-0 in the grand final, 13-7 on Anubis and 13-9 on Cache, and took $8,400 of the $15,000 prize pool. paiN, who had come through the lower bracket final against BESTIA earlier in the evening, finished second.
Imperial2-0
paiNAnubis 13-7, Cache 13-9Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo made the difference. Imperial’s in-game leader finished the final 43-24 with 99.4 ADR, by far the best numbers on the server, after a quieter series against BESTIA in the upper bracket final, where he had been the only Imperial player with more deaths than kills. On paiN’s side, João “snow” Vinicius went 38-29 with 95.3 ADR, but the rest of the team had little to add. Lucas “Tatu” Santana finished on 13 kills and Rickson “Rkzinho” Ribeiro Dias on 15.
Both maps followed the same pattern. Imperial won the first half 7-5 on each, then pulled away in the second: 6-2 on Anubis and 6-4 on Cache.
A week of revenge
Imperial did not have an easy route. They lost 2-0 to BESTIA in the group stage, 13-7 on both Dust2 and Mirage, and needed a decider against ShindeN to reach the playoffs. From there they won all three series: 2-1 against paiN in the upper bracket semi-final, 2-0 against BESTIA in the upper bracket final and 2-0 against paiN again in the grand final.
| Round | Opponent | Result | Maps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group stage | Turma do Pagode | 2-0 | |
| Group stage | 0-2 | Dust2 7-13, Mirage 7-13 | |
| Group decider | ShindeN | 2-0 | |
| Upper bracket semi-final | paiN | 2-1 | Inferno 13-3, Anubis 14-16, Mirage 13-9 |
| Upper bracket final | 2-0 | Nuke 13-10, Dust2 16-12 | |
| Grand final | paiN | 2-0 | Anubis 13-7, Cache 13-9 |
paiN reached the final the hard way. They beat Galorys 2-0 to stay alive on Saturday, and on Sunday they edged BESTIA 2-1 in the lower bracket final: 13-11 on Mirage, 9-13 on Inferno and 13-10 on Dust2, where they came back from a 5-7 first half. Rkzinho was their best player in that series with 51 kills. But paiN, who have not beaten Imperial since 2024, lost to them twice in two days in Curitiba.
One event from Singapore
The title moves Imperial further inside the Americas places. In HLTV’s invite simulator, which plays out every remaining match until Valve draws the invitations from its Regional Standings on 2 November, their chance has risen from 79.2% on Sunday morning to 86.6%, and they are seventh on its Americas list, where the top nine are invited.
| Team | Chance of a Major invite | Last event before the cut-off |
|---|---|---|
Imperial | 86.6% | Gamers Club Masters VII |
DENDELE | 86.1% | Gamers Club Masters VII |
| Wildcard | 56.2% | FiRe Last Chance |
| NRG | 42.7% | FiRe Last Chance |
paiN | 23.6% | Gamers Club Masters VII |
| 3.5% | FiRe Last Chance |
Imperial pointed to the next step themselves. Gamers Club Masters VII starts on Thursday, and the simulator gives them a 95% chance with a place in the final there and 76% without one. DENDELE, who lost to Legacy in Bucharest on Sunday, will be at the same event.
For paiN, second place was worth points but not enough to move them inside the cut. They need a strong Gamers Club as well: the simulator has them at 42% if they reach that final and 10% if they do not. BESTIA’s two defeats in the playoffs have left them at 3.5%, with FiRe Last Chance from 29 October as their last event.
