The MongolZ has officially completed its Counter-Strike 2 roster with the signing of Yesuntumur “nin9” Gantulga. The organization announced the acquisition on Monday, finalizing a lineup that brings together familiar faces under head coach Erdenedalai “maaRaa” Bayanbat.
A homecoming for Mongolian veterans
The transfer marks a return for nin9, who previously represented The MongolZ in 2018 alongside maaRaa, who was an active player at the time. The move also reunites nin9 with current core members Sodbayar “Techno” Munkhbold and Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren.
The trio previously competed together on IHC, making history in 2022 as the first Mongolian team to qualify for a Major. With maaRaa acting as head coach, that IHC roster reached the Challengers Stage at the PGL Major Antwerp, where they finished with a 1-3 record.
Addressing a period of instability
The MongolZ acquires nin9 to stabilize a project that has experienced high turnover. Following a Grand Final appearance at the Austin Major in 2025, the team dropped out of the global top 10 rankings and underwent widespread personnel changes over the next twelve months. Azbayar “Senzu” Munkhbold and Ayush “mzinho” Batbold permanently departed for BC.Game during the summer of 2026.
The organization attempted to fill those vacancies in July by promoting DarkMeister from their academy system and acquiring Bilguun “tikuak” Erdenebulgan from Chinggis Warriors. The trial lasted only two months before both players were moved to the bench in September. To finalize the current active lineup, the organization recalled Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar to the starting five and secured the transfer of nin9.
