North American organization Envy has officially announced its return to professional Counter-Strike by signing the French roster formerly known as 3DMAX. The move ends a nearly six-year absence from the game for the organization.
A return to French roots
Envy departed the Counter-Strike scene in 2020 after fielding an international lineup that included players such as Michał “MICHU” Müller, Noah “Nifty” Francis, and Thomas “Thomas” Utting. By acquiring the ex-3DMAX squad, the organization returns to the French scene. This specific region previously delivered Envy their only Major championship at DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca in 2015.
The push for the Singapore Major
The newly signed squad is actively competing for a spot at the upcoming Singapore Major. The team currently holds the 21st position in the global VRS standings. Before the qualification cutoff, the roster will compete in Stake Pulse Beat III and DraculaN S7 to secure their standing. Their official debut under the Envy banner is scheduled for Stake Pulse Beat III, which begins on October 12.
