Sources point to Australian player Tyson “asap” Paterson as the replacement to secure Asian ranking points for the upcoming Singapore Major.
BC.Game has officially moved Denis “electroNic” Sharipov to the bench. The organization announced the roster change today, marking a calculated adjustment in their strategy ahead of the PGL Singapore Major roster lock.
The shift to an Asian core
The decision is strictly tied to Valve Regional Standings (VRS) calculations. Sources indicate that BC.Game is close to signing Tyson “asap” Paterson from THUNDER dOWNUNDER to replace the Russian veteran. Acquiring the Australian player would provide BC.Game with an Asian core, moving the team out of the highly congested European region.
Currently, BC.Game sits in 36th place in the European VRS, well outside the top 18 required to secure an invite. However, by transitioning to the Asian region, their 1,191 points would place them fourth in the standings. The top five teams in the Asian VRS will receive direct invitations to the PGL Singapore Major.
CEO addresses the benching
BC.Game CEO Ali Muhanned addressed the roster change directly on Twitter, stating the move was necessitated by the early November deadline for the Major. He emphasized electroNic’s positive influence on the team atmosphere during his tenure.
“This guy is one of the most fun and good vibes person I meet,” Muhanned stated on social media following the announcement. “People do not see the behind the scenes and only see numbers and that’s sad sometimes.”
In a statement for HLTV, Muhanned clarified that the organizational change was a strict business decision required for the project to succeed on an international level. He added that electroNic would have been given more time to integrate if the Major deadline was not rapidly approaching.
The road to Singapore
With just over six weeks remaining before the Major roster deadline hits, BC.Game must solidify their point standing in the new region. To maintain their position in the top five, the team is slated to compete in several upcoming regional LAN events, including ROG Journey Autumn, Stake Pulse Beat III, and DraculaN Season 7.
