A sudden roster move could not save The MongolZ from a last-place exit in Suzhou as their post-Major slump continues.
The MongolZ are officially out of FISSURE Playground 3. The Mongolian squad suffered a 2-0 defeat to their countrymen from 5star on Wednesday morning, marking a premature end to their tournament run in China. This result follows an opening round loss to MIBR and confirms a last-place finish for a roster that has rapidly fallen through the rankings.
A steep decline since the Austin Major
The trajectory for The MongolZ has been strictly downward since they reached the Grand Final at the Austin Major in 2025. Over the summer, the team parted ways with Ayush “mzinho” Batbold, who transferred to BC.Game. The squad started the second half of the season with a brief flash of form, securing victories over HEROIC and Wildcard at the BLAST Bounty tournament. Since that point, the team has failed to find consistency, dropping series against FaZe, Natus Vincere, and Falcons in recent weeks.
Sudden roster adjustment falls flat
For the event in China, The MongolZ fielded Anarbileg “cobrazera” Uuganbayar in place of Sodbayar “Techno4K” Munkhbold. The organization provided no official reason for the roster change ahead of the tournament.

Against 5star, cobrazera was the lone bright spot for The MongolZ. He posted 40 kills over the two maps and secured a 1.34 rating. The rest of the team struggled to match the firepower of their regional rivals. Usukhbayar “910” Banzragch and Garidmagnai “bLitz” Byambasuren finished the series with 0.89 and 0.97 ratings, respectively. Dugarsuren “DarkMeister” Ireedui and Zolbayar “tikuak” Chimedtseren also fell short, recording 0.88 and 0.64 ratings.
5star punishes an experienced opponent
On the opposite side of the server, 5star capitalized on the disjointed performance of The MongolZ.Tengis “rate” Boldbaatar dominated the series with 41 kills, 94.4 ADR, and a 1.68 rating. Uuganbayar “NEUZ” Nyam-Otgon and Dulguun “hoolig4n” Batsaikhan also delivered strong performances, ending the match with 1.16 and 1.14 ratings. The 5star roster outplayed their experienced opponents to secure the 2-0 victory and advance in the lower bracket.
