The current world number one, Spirit, defeated third-ranked FURIA 2-0 in the Group A upper bracket final of the BLAST Open Porto 2026. This fixture marked the final day of action in Copenhagen before the tournament transitions to Portugal for the playoff stage.
With the victory, Spirit secure a direct ticket to the semi-finals on Saturday. FURIA are now forced to start their playoff run in the quarter-finals on Friday.
Ancient provides early resistance
Spirit opted for Ancient as the opening map. The two top-three teams traded rounds throughout the first half, resulting in a narrow 7-5 advantage for the world number one. The second half mirrored the tight nature of the first, but Spirit maintained their composure to cross the finish line with a 13-10 victory.
Dmitry ‘sh1ro’ Sokolov and Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets set the standard early on, constantly finding openings to keep FURIA on the defensive.
Complete control on Cache
FURIA looked to equalize the series on their map pick of Cache. Instead, Spirit took immediate control of the server. A commanding 8-4 first half left the mixed roster trailing significantly. Any hopes of a comeback were quickly extinguished in the second half, as Spirit allowed only one additional round to close the map 13-5.
Across the series, sh1ro and donk posted 1.33 and 1.31 ratings respectively, while Andrey ‘tN1R’ Tatarinovich delivered a strong 1.28 rating to support the core. On the other side of the server, FURIA’s players struggled to find impact. Mareks ‘YEKINDAR’ Gaļinskis topped the board for his team with a 1.05 rating, while Kaike ‘KSCERATO’ Cerato ended the match at the bottom of the scoreboard with 18 kills and a 0.71 rating over two maps.
The road to Porto
Both teams now pack their bags for Porto. Spirit have earned an extra day of preparation before their semi-final appearance on Saturday. FURIA must immediately shift their focus to their quarter-final matchup on Friday to keep their tournament hopes alive.
