CS:GO Cheating Scandal: Did Akuma really cheat?

On June 3rd, the participating teams in EPIC League CIS asked Valve in an open letter to launch a full investigation into the cheating allegations against Akuma, who placed third in the Regional Major Ranking tournament. The Akuma squad most notably took down NAVI and Virtus.pro in convincing fashion in the playoffs. Teams suspected Akuma for receiving live data from third parties on external devices during matches to see enemies’ position on the map and gain a competitive advantage.

But did they really cheat? When they humiliated CS:GO’s goat, Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, it raised a few questions within the community. Were they that good? Or were they cheating?

Investigations have turned up some eye-opening evidence, as well as some “highly suspicious” betting from the CEO of the previous version of the organization, so what’s really going on with Akuma?
