Liquid’s run of form was no match for Spirit as MOUZ survived a hard-fought battle with 3DMAX.
Liquid vs Spirit turned out to be the confirmation of Spirit’s excellency at the BLAST Bounty. After a flawless online stage, Liquid were a dark horse, but Daniil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets powered an indomitable Spirit.
MOUZ came in as the favorite against 3DMAX but the Frenchmen put up a fight which could have resulted in a 2-0 for them. Instead, MOUZ grinded out a 2-1 win with a dominant decider.
donk destroys Liquid: 15 more kills than anyone
Liquid needed to have a strong performance to contend with the likes of donk, and luckily they had Georgi ‘Jorko’ Mitev on their side. On the CT-side of Dust2, he had a 1.87 rating.
However, that was only enough for four rounds, as donk and Andrey ‘tN1R’ Tatarinovich tore through the Liquid defense. The latter had over a kill per round with incredibly high impact on the map.
The second map had been Liquid’s playground in the online stage, but it backfired here, mainly due to donk. Spirit got up to a 9-3 T-side lead and then won the pistol round with a donk 4k.
The young Russian superstar had a ridiculous 11-1 K-D on the CT-side of Anubis, ending Liquid’s run.
MOUZ limp on in Bounty
After making the signing of Oldřich ‘PR’ Nový, MOUZ have reached their first semifinal as a squad.
3DMAX made roster changes of their own, but keep some of the same strengths. They picked Dust2 and gave a masterclass against MOUZ, winning 13-10 while at a skill and firepower disadvantage.
PR had a horrible 6-16 start, which might have spelled the end for MOUZ. On their pick of Nuke, they were down 11-12 and could have gone out. PR raised his form and managed to help get an OT win.
In the decider map, MOUZ were in cruise control as 3DMAX reeled from missing out on the victory. PR top-fragged on the decider with 19 kills in a 13-3 victory.
