The first half of the semi-final bracket at PGL Astana 2026 is officially locked in. Team Spirit and MOUZ won their respective quarter-final matchups today, securing 2-0 victories to advance further in the tournament. The two teams are now scheduled to face each other tomorrow for a spot in the grand final.
xertioN stars in MOUZ victory
In the opening quarter-final of the day, MOUZ continued their strong form by defeating Aurora. The series ended in a swift 2-0 fashion. Aurora struggled to match the mechanical pacing and strategic execution of the MOUZ roster. The new in-game leader, Dorian “xertioN” Berman showed that he has not forgotten how to contribute individually after his transformation to IGL on the team. The Israeli player went 44-28 on Dust2 and Nuke to guide his team to victory.
Spirit close out tight series against G2 on Ancient
The second quarter-final featured a highly anticipated matchup between Team Spirit and G2. Spirit took the early advantage by winning the Dust2 13-6 and carried that momentum into the second map, Ancient. G2 mounted a strong resistance in the final stages of the game, pushing the series to the limit. However, Spirit managed to hold their ground and secured the final rounds needed to close out Ancient with a 13-11 scoreline. The victory completes a 2-0 sweep for Spirit, sending G2 home from the event in Astana.
The upcoming semi-final between MOUZ and Team Spirit guarantees a high-level Counter-Strike series tomorrow. Both teams have displayed strong form in the playoffs so far, setting the stage for a competitive battle for the grand final ticket.
