Vitality extend their playoff map winstreak to 28 maps

Vitality won another grand final over NAVI 3-0, despite starting map 1 with a 0-10 deficit.

Vitality won another grand final over NAVI 3-0, despite starting map 1 with a 0-10 deficit.

At the start of the grand final of BLAST Rivals Fort Worth, NAVI had their foot on Vitality’s neck. They were up 11-0 in the opening map of Nuke on the CT-side, and ended the half 11-1.

The thought at the time was whether Vitality would suffer their first 0-13 loss ever, but the result was far from that. They came back to win the map in overtime, answering with their own 11-1 half.

Vitality’s big game player

Vitality’s lurker was key in securing this “flawless” win over NAVI. He was the highest-rated on Nuke and Anubis, which Vitality only won 13-11. On Dust2, ZywOo took over to get a clean 13-3 win.

Throughout the final, ropz went 60-38 in K-D, +22, with a +6% round swing.

Ropz: “We didn’t practice for this event”

In the post-match interview with Thorin, ropz revealed that Vitality did not practice for this event, but the others still failed to capitalize.

We managed to squeeze in two practices during the media day, [but that was it].
