Apex Legends update: Fuse buffs and Gundam event launches tomorrow

The latest Apex Legends patch notes have arrived, delivering significant power increases to Fuse alongside a major technical warning for Rampart players. These changes set the stage for the massive Gundam collaboration event which officially kicks off tomorrow, bringing a complete map overhaul and new mechanical abilities to the Outlands.

Fuse is seeing a substantial increase in his explosive efficiency in this update. The most notable change is the reversion of his Tactical duration to its pre-28.0 state, doubling the active time from 2 seconds back to approximately 4 seconds. This significantly increases his area denial capabilities during mid-range skirmishes.

His Ultimate has also been streamlined with a 25% reduction in pullout time, allowing for much faster engagement. Additionally, the explosive wave delay has been halved from 0.6 seconds to 0.3 seconds, making it much harder for enemies to escape the initial blast radius. Breach charges are now more lethal as well, with their trigger delay reduced from 1.5 seconds to 1.0 second. To round out the kit, four new explosive types have been added with adjusted velocity and randomness to keep opponents guessing.

  • Tactical duration reverted to pre-28.0 (2s → ~4s)
  • Ultimate pullout time reduced ~25%
  • Explosive wave delay reduced (0.6s → 0.3s)
  • Breach charge trigger delay reduced (1.5s → 1.0s)
  • Added 4 new explosives with adjusted velocity/randomness

Technical Alert: Rampart performance issues

Players utilizing Rampart should be aware of a significant performance bug introduced in the latest build. Standing behind Rampart’s placed cover is currently causing a 25 FPS drop for many users.

Furthermore, activating the ‘Infinite Ammo’ perk is resulting in an additional 20 FPS reduction. If you are playing on a mid-range system, these cumulative performance hits could impact your ability to track targets during high-intensity fights. Respawn is likely investigating a hotfix for these frame rate instabilities.

Everything coming to Apex tomorrow: Gundam launch

Tomorrow marks the debut of the Apex Legends x Gundam collaboration. This event is more than just a cosmetic drop; it introduces the Broken Moon Gundam Takeover, transforming the map with iconic mobile suit visuals and structures.

New event items and wildcards

Players can find and equip the Buster Rifle and Bit Staves during the event. The gameplay will also be altered by new Gundam-inspired Wildcards:

  • Epyon’s Lash: A magnetic melee pull tactical ability.
  • Heavyarms Salvo: Marks enemies for air support after multiple hits.
  • Zero Sacrifice: A self-destruct mechanic upon being knocked.
  • Zero Rebirth: Allows players to enter the Void when knocked and exit with 1 HP and temporary invulnerability.

Cosmetics and rewards

The event features 54 Gundam-inspired skins and two new universal heirlooms: the Beam Saber and the Epyon Heat Rod. For those looking for free rewards, the event offers a tracker set, a Char Aznable-inspired Sparrow skin, and two free event packs to get your collection started.
